4. Adrian Wilson – 2001

Who knew at the time the third round pick out of North Carolina State would turn out to be the defender he ended up being?  He’s probably tied for the second best defender the Cardinals have had in their history in Arizona.

With apologies to Patrick Peterson, who would have been sixth on this list, Wilson’s longevity and long time commitment to the Bidwill’s can not go unnoticed.  He’s a five time pro bowler and a member of the team’s Ring of Honor.

He played out his last two seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears, although he was cut in the preseason by the Bears.  The Cardinals brought him back after his retirement to work in the front office as a scout.

He finished his career with 27 interceptions, 25.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 8 fumble recoveries, and 4 defensive touchdowns.  He had 894 tackles in his career.
