Vs. Josh Rosen

Why we want to see it: Well, this is about as obvious as it gets. After being drafted at No. 10 overall by the Cardinals in 2018, the team shipped off Josh Rosen to Miami after selecting Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall in 2019. This is simply the revenge game; the matchup we’re desperately waiting for.

If Rosen performs in his first season as a Miami Dolphin, and Murray doesn’t perform up to expectations, you can bet that there will be calls for Steve Keim’s job. The Cardinals were in a unique situation choosing between two top ten picks and franchise-quarterback talents. Although they are very different quarterback play-style wise, they will be compared in every way possible.

When it’ll happen: The Cardinals will face the Dolphins’ AFC East in 2020. But, many think that Miami may not be keeping Rosen as their starter for very long. Their roster is built to tank, and they’ve reportedly had their eyes on the 2020 crop of quarterback talent that includes Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa.

Obviously, being replaced by a top quarterback two years in a row is a less-than-ideal situation for Rosen. And the same can be said for a matchup. Rosen vs. Murray ruled the NFL landscape before Murray was even a pro, imagine if the two could play each other and settle the debate?

Hopefully, Rosen is the starter by the time the two face each other. Although he was traded out of Arizona, he’s a promising prospect with all the tools to succeed in the NFL. The best case scenario would be that both Murray and Rosen turn out to be successful.
