The Backups

With Clay the presumed starter, as we said, Seals-Jones or Maxx Williams could start as well.  If not then they both have a great shot at making the 53-man roster.

Also in camp at tight end are seventh-round pick Caleb Wilson out of UCLA, Darrell Daniels, and Drew Belcher.  Given the amount of weapons at other offensive skill positions, it would not be surprising to see the Cardinals keep just three tight ends.

That said, if Clay, Seals-Jones, and Williams could be the three.  Wilson, Daniels, and Belcher will all be fighting for spots in camp.

Daniels was with the Cardinals for 11 games last season, but with a new offense that doesn’t necessarily give him an inside track over Wilson or Belcher.  Belcher seems like he could be just a camp body, but you never know.

The wild-card here is Wilson.  Some are predicting that all of the Cardinals draft picks will make the 53-man roster, which would include Wilson.

If he doesn’t get selected for the 53-man roster, there could be a very good chance he makes the practice squad.  That’s just a best guess at this point however.
