#66 Johnny Roland

Roland played seven seasons with the Cardinals in St. Louis from 1966-1972.  His last season was spent with the New York Giants.

Roland made two Pro Bowls in each of his first two seasons of ’66 and 1967.  He had 10 touchdowns and 867-yards rushing that ’67 season.

The 10 touchdowns were good for second in the NFL and the rushing yards were good for fourth in the NFL.  While today that would be a decent season back then it meant Pro Bowl.

His 1966-season all around was probably his best.  He rushed for 695-yards and five touchdowns and added 21 receptions.

He also added 20 punt returns for a total of 221-yards.  The 221-yards was third-best that season in the NFL, one of which was returned for 86-yards, longest in the NFL in ’66.

He lead the NFL in punt return average at 11.1-yards per return. He finished fifth in the NFL in all-purpose yards with 1,476-yards.
