#56 Eric Hill

Hill was drafted by the Cardinals in the first round, 10th overall, of the 1989 NFL Draft.  He played the first nine seasons of his 11-year NFL career with the Cardinals.

Five times over his nine seasons in the desert, he finished with over 100-tackles.  He wasn’t really a pass rushing linebacker but a drop back in coverage guy.  His career-high for tackles was 131 in 1996, which was good for sixth in the NFL that season.

He made the 1989 All-Rookie team.  He also scored his only touchdown of his career in 1991 when he returned a fumble 85-yards, which was best in the NFL that year.

Hill’s numbers overall were never the best but it was his presence in the middle of the defense that kept him around for a long time.  He was a full-time starter his entire nine-years with the Cardinals and someone that could be counted on week in and week out.
