#41 Pat Fischer

The 17th round pick, 232nd overall, by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1961 spent seven years with the team from ’61 until 1967.  He played 10 seasons with the Washington Redskins after his time in St. Louis.

He made the Pro Bowl twice while with the Cardinals in 1964 and 1965.  The cornerback had 10 interceptions in ’64, two of which were returned for touchdowns. That lead the NFL that season.

He had 29 interceptions in his seven Cardinals seasons.  He had 27 over his last 10 with the Redskins.

In that ’64 season, he made five publications 1st Team All-Pro.  They included Sporting News, New York Daily News, Associated Press, Newspaper Enterprise Association, and UPI.

His 56 career interceptions are 18th all-time in the NFL.  Twice he finished in the top 10 in the NFL in 1963 with eight interceptions, good for third, and in 1964 when he had those 10, which was good for second in the NFL.
