#47 Edgerrin James

James came to the Cardinals in 2006 as a free agent after seven seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, four of them Pro Bowl seasons.  Though he did not make the Pro Bowl in Arizona, he had an immediate impact.

He was the first big free agent splash the Cardinals had made in the Dennis Green-era.  He rushed for 1,159-yards in ’06 and was even better in 2007 with 1,222-yards rushing.

He was also a help out of the backfield as a receiver.  He had 38 receptions in ’06 and 24 in ’07.  In 2008, his role diminished a bit as the passing game took off.  He also only played in 13 games that season, starting just seven of them.

He scored 80 career touchdowns, 16 of them in his three seasons with the Cardinals.  He also had one playoff touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in the 2008 playoff run to the Super Bowl.

He made Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-2000’s First Team.  We should all be grateful three of those seasons revitalized a poor Cardinals rushing attack.
