Drew Anderson
Granted, Anderson’s chances of making the 53-man roster are slim to begin with. However as all four quarterbacks on the 90-man roster were given a chance to play on Thursday, he showed he was clearly behind Charles Kanoff in the race for the third quarterback.
The Cardinals may not even keep three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, in fact I would bet against it. However that third guy could be in line for a practice squad spot, if not here then somewhere else.
Anderson went 3-7 for 29-yards with an interception. The interception he threw was right to Chargers safety Drue Tranquill. Kanoff was a perfect 4-4 for 42-yards.
That said, he should get another chance come this week against the Oakland Raiders. It could be the last chance with the Cardinals for the rookie from Murray State.
There is also a chance both Anderson and Kanoff will be around for the final preseason game to see if either one can convince coach Kliff Kingsbury to keep a third quarterback. We’ll see if that happens.
