Injuries/Key players to watch
We found out after last week’s game cornerback Robert Alford is out for a couple of months at best, maybe the season. Tramaine Brock, Byron Murphy, and Chris Jones are now the top three corners.
Receiver Hakeem Butler fractured his hand this week. He is out for the preseason and could be a candidate for injured reserve when the 53-man rosters are put together next week.
The Cardinals are still waiting on offensive lineman Max Garcia. He has been on the PUP list for all of camp.
Murray is certainly one player we should all be watching. After a good first week, he didn’t play so well last week, although not all of his fault. Those are the high’s and low’s of preseason.
Can guys like linebacker Pete Robertson or Zeke Turner take hold of a spot? Running backs T.J. Logan, D.J. Foster, and Dontae Strickland are likely fighting for one spot, so keep an eye on them as well.
The entire offensive line needs to play better. They left Murray out to dry a couple of times last week against the Raiders.
The biggest key to the game will be to remain healthy. There are a lot of guys playing for a spot on the 53-man roster but in the end we want everyone coming home able to practice next week, the last week of the 2019 preseason.
