D.J. Foster

Foster surprisingly made the 53- man roster over T.J. Logan.  However looking back at reasons why that may have happened it is understandable.

He is a very good player on special teams. For Logan, as a returner, the Cardinals had two other guys that could fill that role.

Foster starts his fourth NFL season out of Arizona State University.  He started his career with the New England Patriots in 2016.  He came over to the Cardinals in 2017 and played seven games.

However last season he tore his ACL in the preseason and missed the entire year.  From that standpoint alone, it is great to see Foster back in action and make the roster.

The other reason he will be valuable is he can catch the ball.  He had 17 receptions in his seven games back in 2017.  Expect to see him in the short game, possibly in screen pass situations.

We get the sense head coach Kliff Kingsbury is one of those guys that will utilize all of his weapons every week.  So, don’t sleep on Foster, he will get his share of time on the field.
