David Johnson

At times it sure looks like Cardinals running back David Johnson is ready to break free for a great day.  It looked like that early on against the Panthers.

He had a nice catch out in space from a Murray pass.  He had a nice run of 15-yards that looked like vintage DJ.

However take away that one run, Johnson rushed 10 times for just 22-yards.  Yes, some of it can be blamed on the lack of offensive line work but Johnson isn’t getting around the ends or getting himself free from any kinds of tackles.

He did have a catch for a touchdown on Sunday.  He did look to work hard on the run after the catch to dive and cross the goal line for the score.  However we aren’t seeing much of it on his carries.

Next. Cardinals lose in defensive meltdown. dark

He still provides some versatility that is needed out of the backfield but at what point will it be more consistent for DJ?  A lot of fans are asking that question still after Sunday afternoon.
