Carter Coughlin, LB, Minnesota

It isn’t just defensive ends the Cardinals are going to take a long look at. Expect a long look at linebackers as well.

Coughlin is a good one out of Minnesota. From the linebacker position, Coughlin had 22.5 sacks over his four seasons as a Golden Gopher. He had 4.5 of those his senior year in 2019 but 9.5 his junior year.

He’s also a guy that will stop offensive players in their tracks. He had 48 tackles in 2018, 15 for loss and 49 tackles in 2019, 9.5 for loss and 11.5 of 37 tackles in 2017 were for a loss.

He was another guy that loved to strip the football. He lead the Big Ten in forced fumbles in 2018 with 4 of them. He had 3 forced fumbles in 2019.

Though he stands tall at 6’4, he is a little lighter than the defensive ends we’ve mentioned at 245 lbs. He hits hard though and has football awareness.
