Josh Jones getting the call

Since we aren’t Josh Jones, we can’t imagine how it felt to get the call that you are being drafted.  However for the new Cardinals offensive tackle, it took awhile to get that call.

A projected late first/early second round selection, Jones had to wait until pick 72 in the third round.  Had the Cardinals had a second round pick, Jones likely would have been the guy there.

Cardinals fans were hoping the team would pick up the phone and trade back into the second to ensure they got him.  They didn’t need to.

Josh no doubt was moved but probably also had a sense of relief that the wait was over.  The Cardinals got a first round talent in the third at a position they desperately needed help.

That was one of the best things about this draft, having the players at home surrounded by more family than they likely would have had they been in Las Vegas.  We couldn’t be happier for him and the career in which he’s about to embark on.
