Eno Benjamin, RB, Arizona State

All day Saturday Cardinals fans were asking for the team to draft Benjamin, a local favorite out of Arizona State.  He came out early and for awhile it looked like it could be a mistake.

Still, Benjamin had to wait until round seven to hear his name called.  Once he made it to the seventh round though, it seemed more and more likely it would be the Cardinals who would use their last selection on him.

Benjamin put up some very good numbers.  He rushed for 1,642-yards in 2018 and 1,083-yards in 2019.  He scored 16 touchdowns on the ground in 2018 and 10 in 2019.  He also scored 2 touchdowns receiving both seasons.

Benjamin said after his selection he felt going into the draft the Cardinals were one of his best fits given their running back situation.  They only have three on the roster now with Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds, and D.J. Foster.

Benjamin is one of the better seventh round selections we’ve seen in quite sometime, especially in Arizona.  He easily could have gone 2-3 rounds earlier.
