December/January
Week 13: Los Angeles Rams
Let’s just say it hasn’t been a picnic playing the Rams over the last few years. The last victory was in Los Angeles in the last game of the 2016 season.
The Rams however let a lot of players go, including Cardinals killer Todd Gurley. They also traded away receiver Brandin Cooks.
The Rams came in Glendale and dominated the Cardinals last season. It was clearly the worst game of the season for the Cardinals. They were never in it.
That won’t be the case this season but there is still some doubt they can stick with the Rams. It is easy to see a split with the Rams this season, so we’ll give this one to the Rams 27-17.
Week 14: @ New York Giants
The Cardinals went to MetLife last season and took care of business. Running back Chase Edmonds had a field day, scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 126-yards.
He won’t be doing that this season as long as Kenyan Drake is healthy. Drake could be looking for a huge day in New York. There is no reason why if the Cardinals come in with the same game plan this season as they did last October they can’t win this game either.
Look for the Cardinals to come away with the MetLife split. They defeat the Giants 30-28.
Week 15: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles spent the offseason trying to improve their receiving core. They also have to hope quarterback Carson Wentz stays healthy, though now it appears they have like seven guys that can play the position.
The Cardinals should be up for this one and if both teams are hot or are fighting for playoff positioning, this could be one of those games that gets flexed to Sunday night. Remember a late season Sunday Night affair in Philly in 2015?
Cardinals come away with the win. They defeat the Eagles 35-12.
Week 16: San Francisco 49ers (Sat or Sun)
Last season, the 49ers came into State Farm Stadium and held on late to win on Halloween. Cardinals receiver Andy Isabella had a nice night with an 89-yard touchdown reception.
The 49ers are tough though and will be looking to finish strong. The Cardinals won in week 1. It’ll be hard to see the Cardinals sweeping the defending NFC Champions.
Cardinals drop a tough one at home, losing 34-21. The final game could decide whether they finish .500 or possibly slip in with the 7th NFC playoff spot.
Week 17: @ Los Angeles Rams
The Rams could just as easily be in the same position as the Cardinals going into the regular season finale. The Cardinals and Rams played a close one to close out the 2019 season in Los Angeles last year, with the Rams winning 31-24.
Let’s turn that around this season. The Cardinals finally find way to victory over the Rams for the first time in four seasons. Cardinals win 31-24.
