Week 1 – @San Francisco 49ers

You hate to see so much pressure on a team to make week one a must win.  However, the Cardinals return to the site of arguably the most stinging loss of 2019.

They jumped on the 49ers early in San Francisco last November, taking a 16-0 lead in the first quarter.  They gave that lead up but eventually re-took the lead and were up 26-23 late.

We all know what happened next.  The Cardinals imploded on defense and then a ridiculous play to end the game gave the 49ers a second late touchdown to win by 10.

The Cardinals need to put that game behind them.  Hopefully they won’t be thinking of it come September.  It’s a new season.  Kyler Murray starts year two and he has new weapons, mainly in receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Nothing would make a statement and give the Cardinals confidence like defeating the defending NFC Champion on their home turf to start the new season.  They’d also be done with arguably the toughest divisional game after week one.
