Running Back (4)

Starter: Kenyan Drake

Backups: Chase Edmonds, Eno Benjamin, D.J. Foster

Cut: Jonathan Ward

The big question here is whether the Cardinals carry three or four running backs? Keeping just three could open up a receiver or tight end spot.

Realistically if they do cut from this position, it likely comes down to Benjamin and Foster.  Foster certainly has special teams experience on his side.

There is also the question of Drake’s health.  He has spent some time resting and in a walking boot recently.  If there are any questions of Drake’s health, then there is no question the Cardinals keep four backs, at least in the beginning.

Edmonds more than proved last season he can fill in when needed.  The idea he is an every down and every week back remains to be seen.  He himself ran into injury issues the last two months of the season.

Of course having two former ASU backs on the Cardinals roster isn’t going to hurt a lot of feelings in the Phoenix-area.  It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
