The last of the five things the Arizona Cardinals must change are multiple position groups. We already covered the secondary. What will become of the running back position will hinge on the Kenyan Drake contract extension, and if it gets done. The backup quarterback is suddenly a hot topic of debate too. I’ll admit that I was wrong in saying that Streveler should start, but no one thought it would be THAT bad this week.

Zane Gonzalez should be out the door as well. There will need to be another wide receiver to help Hopkins out as Fitzgerald has now entered a Brett Favre-like “did he retire or not?” phase thanks to defensive line Brentson Buckner. Fitz usually takes his time, but I think he’s really hurting over the end to this season.

Given the cap space, this will remain a memorable offseason for quite some time that may end up deciding the future of Kliff Kingsbury and Steve Keim. Let’s just enjoy NFL football while it’s still around before we go seven months without it. Let’s hope all of the five things the Cardinals must change for next year get addressed.
