Eno Benjamin – RB

Benjamin was far and away the biggest winner for the Cardinals in the preseason. Benjamin rushed eight times during the preseason, recording 68 rushing yards and a touchdown. He broke several big runs and after what was virtually a redshirt season in 2020, he looks poised to work his way into the rotation as the team’s third running back.

But here’s the kicker. We know how injury-prone James Conner is. And Chase Edmonds didn’t exactly impress when the team forced him into the starting running back role against the Miami Dolphins last season when Kenyan Drake was out with an injury.

Both Conner and Edmonds have proven themselves as legitimate backs. But neither has solidified themselves as a featured back. Benjamin turned our heads in the preseason and he’s only a few solid performances in the regular season away from cutting substantially into Conner’s and Edmonds’ carries.

Don’t expect anything drastic from Benjamin yet. But come October and November, he may see his number called more often. The potential is there. Now, let’s see if it translates into the regular season.
