Deionte Thompson – S

Arizona has gotten solid value out of Deionte Thompson, a University of Alabama safety who was drafted back in 2019. The 6-foot-1,195-pounder has played well when called upon, but the snaps on defense that Thompson is receiving have been few and far between.

Standing in the way of Thompson’s growth are Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson, a pair of youthful safeties who will likely roam the “Big Red” secondary for many years to come. James Wiggins, a seventh-round selection from this year’s draft, is also in the mix for the Cardinals.

Keim could almost certainly get a fifth-round pick in return for Deionte Thompson, which happens to be the round he was selected in two years ago. That type of trade could potentially benefit both the Cards and the player. There could be plenty of suitors if the talented Thompson is made available before November 2.
