Devon Kennard – OLB

The Phillips deal wasn’t the only bad contract that Keim was responsible for in 2020. Devon Kennard received $20 million from the Cardinals, after stints with both the New York Giants and Detroit Lions.

Kennard’s lack of production has been alarming. The 30-year-old has been replaced in the starting lineup this fall by Markus Golden, and has contributed very little in his backup role.

Convincing another franchise to take Kennard’s inflated contract off of their hands is probably an impossibility. At this point, Keim would likely take a bag of footballs in exchange for the edge-rusher’s services. Much to Keim’s chagrin, there’s a very good chance that the Cards will be stuck with Kennard for the remainder of the 2021 schedule.
