It’s been seven long years since Arizona drafted an undersized wide receiver during the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. That individual is no longer employed in the league, but could a reunion between John “Smokey” Brown and the organization be far away?
Brown left the Cards in 2018 and has been with no fewer than five franchises since his departure. The 5-foot-11,178-pounder’s last productive season came a year ago when he totaled 33 receptions, 458 receiving yards, and three touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills.
The 31-year-old Brown has yet to play a down in 2021, despite stints with the Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Jacksonville Jaguars. A return to the Cardinals could be just a phone call away.
