Marco Wilson – CB

When he was drafted earlier this year, I wrote an article on the Cardinals needing a re-draft, as their picks, especially Marco Wilson, did nothing to inspire hope. Is it any wonder that Wilson has struggled so much in the past few games? No, it isn’t.

Asking a fourth-round pick to start and cover some of the best wide receivers on the field is asking for someone from Arizona to drive through a Wisconsin blizzard. It’s not going to be a good time. So understandably, Wilson’s doing his best while getting the “Byron Murphy treatment.”

Wilson has allowed a completion percentage of 69.4 percent,  with 569 yards and seven touchdowns given up on the year. Wilson also has five missed tackles on the season. Yes, Wilson is still a rookie, but it’s clear that Steve Keim waited way too long to address the cornerback position.

It appears that an injury is likely going to keep Wilson off of the field for Arizona’s Week 16 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. But even before more was known about his injury, reports came out that the Cardinals are expected to sign the defensive equivalent of former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall (who once offered someone on Twitter $25K to fight him) in Bashaud Breeland, which might be the clear signal that Wilson was heading to the bench anyways.
