John DeFilippo

Youngstown, Ohio native John DeFilippo is a respected offensive mind who is currently the passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the Chicago Bears. However, the Bears fired head coach Matt Nagy back on January 10, so there’s a fair chance that DeFilippo will soon be moving on as well.

The 43-year-old DeFilippo is just one year older than Kingsbury, but his vast experience as an NFL assistant could intrigue the Cards. Like the other candidates mentioned in this article, DeFilippo has also built a reputation as a quarterback guru.

DeFilippo has been an offensive coordinator with the Browns (2015), Vikings (2018), and Jaguars (2019) at the professional level. His work as a quarterbacks coach in the NFL includes stints with the Oakland Raiders (2007-08, 2012-14), Eagles (2016-17), and Bears (2020-present).
