Christian Covington – DT

2021 Team: Los Angeles Chargers

Christian Covington is a journeyman defensive tackle who’s been employed by four different professional clubs. Last fall, the Chargers got one heck of a bargain when they inked the 28-year-old to a one-year, $990,000 contract.

In 16 contests (three starts), Covington was credited with 52 tackles and a sack for Los Angeles. It was the most stops that the 6-foot-2, 300-pounder has racked up in one campaign, after stints with the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, and Bengals.

The Cardinals can use a capable run-stuffer in the middle of their defensive line, and Covington could fill that role. As an added bonus, Keim may very well succeed in acquiring the former Rice University product at a bargain rate in 2022.
