NFC West Rankings: Where do the Cardinals stand after the 2022 NFL Draft?
49ers land at third in the NFC West
The San Francisco 49ers are an enigmatic squad. Last year their 2-5 record had many people leaving for them dead as a playoff berth seemed unlikely. However, they finished strong and came just one game short of their second Super Bowl appearance in three years.
Deebo Samuel wants to solely be a wide receiver and not the Swiss army knife that he’s utilized in the past few seasons. But do the 49ers want that, and do they even want Jimmy Garoppolo to guide the team?
It’s sure getting awkward for the 49ers as Trey Lance continues to preach to the choir, “Hello, I’m still here and can hear everything you’re saying.” San Francisco has no idea what they’re doing at the quarterback spot right now.
So much so that it’s led to a neutral offseason where they haven’t gotten better, but they haven’t gotten worse. Unless Kyle Shanahan has another miracle left in him to guide this team, the 49ers could be headed for a fall from grace- especially as Lance gets his first, true NFL experience.
Prediction: A repeat of last year as they, somehow, magically get a wild-card spot
