For quite some time, the Cardinals organization seemed to be uninterested in using the tight end as a pass-catching weapon. However, those days now appear to be over.
Last October, general manager Steve Keim orchestrated a trade for Zach Ertz, a 6-foot-5, 250-pounder from the Philadelphia Eagles.
After witnessing the type of impact that the three-time Pro Bowler had in Kingsbury’s offense, one has to wonder why the franchise didn’t take advantage of the tight end position much earlier.
In just 11 regular-season appearances, Ertz was credited with an impressive 56 catches for 574 yards and three scores.
Imagine what the 31-year-old can accomplish in Arizona with an entire offseason under his belt.
