Trey McBride survives the Arizona Cardinals’ 2022 re-draft

Looking at the draft board here, the only other player in the second round that would’ve been worth anything would have been James Cook, the running back out of Florida State.

And no, drafting a running back in the second round is not a bad thing (Johnathon Taylor confirms this to be true).

McBride is a pick that the Cardinals will benefit from, but it still doesn’t change the fact that it was and is such a weird pick. With Zach Ertz getting an extension and Maxx Williams returning, unless the Cardinals go 13 personnel, these three will never be on the field at the same time.

Cook would have been the pick here as the running back depth is limited, but maybe injury concerns for Williams prompted Keim to go with McBride. Let’s hope he sees action.
