Reason #2 the Arizona Cardinals won’t win their first Super Bowl: Kliff Kingsbury
You’ve got to give Kliff Kingsbury credit for steadily improving the team’s win total over the past three seasons. That’s a great achievement in itself. But Kingsbury simultaneously has given no reason for anyone in the NFL to trust that he can prevent the inevitable- a late-season collapse.
If the Arizona Cardinals don’t get off to a good enough start without DeAndre Hopkins, will they have to play for a wildcard spot the entire year and then go on the road for the playoffs? The Cardinals’ playoff record on the road is god awful at 2-9 (including the Chicago and St.Louis eras).
The Cardinals’ path to a Super Bowl lies at home, as evidenced by the Arizona Cardinals’ 2008 playoff run. In fact, the Cardinals are the only remaining team in the NFL to never lose a playoff game at home.
It’s sad that Kingsbury is known more for scoring off the field than he is on it late in the season.
