Hopkins has chance to be an all-time great

Considering his age and ability to stay healthy, DeAndre Hopkins has an opportunity to have his name mentioned amongst the greatest to ever play the wide receiver position. He is only 30 years old and could come very close to breaking some of the all-time marks. Hopkins will have to serve his six game suspension to begin the season but he is eligible to play in 11 games.

It’s amazing how quickly Hopkins put up the numbers he has so far and the consistency he has done it with. If he can produce a 1,000-yard season, it would put him in the top 30 all-time in receiving yardage.

Hopkins and his quest to move up in the record books

He is currently 36th in all-time receptions, and being one of Kyler Murray’s favorite targets should help him shoot up the rankings quickly. Last season Murray targeted Hopkins 64 times in a total of 10 games played, but the season before that Murray targeted Hopkins an astronomical 160 times as he finished that season with 115 catches with over 1400 yards.

Hopkins is also currently 50th all-time in TD receptions by a wide receiver and he’s going to have to get in the end zone quite a bit if he is to even scratch the surface on that record. I believe that out of all the active WR’s on the all-time lists that Hopkins has the chance to be the greatest. He has an advantage playing in the Air Raid system knowing that all he has to do it get open.

Now with AJ Green healthy and coming off a bounce back season, the threat of Zach Ertz making plays, and the anticipated breakout from second-year WR Rondale Moore if he can get healthy, teams won’t be able to focus solely on stopping Hopkins without worrying about getting burned by one of the Cardinals other weapons. Hopefully, Hopkins will come back better than ever and give the fans an opportunity o witness history.
