Zach Ertz quietly becoming one of the greats at his position

Zach Ertz is quietly creeping up the all-time list as the elite tight end plans on having another productive season with the Cardinals. I don’t think people realize just how much of a difference- maker Ertz has been during his career. Like I said before, numbers don’t lie and his name is in those discussions for a reason.

Ertz already holds the record for most catches by a tight end in a single season. In just 11 games with Arizona he was targeted 81 times and could have more targets than that this season. Ertz not only serves as Murray’s security blanket, but also as a quality offensive weapon who is excellent in the short area of the field and in the red zone.

Ertz looked rejuvenated in the Air Raid offense after he was acquired via trade. Playing in Kingsbury’s system should give Ertz every chance to become a top 10 all-time player at his position. Ertz is currently 13th in receiving yards, 9th in catches and 19th in TD’s for a tight end. With just a few more productive seasons, Ertz could be top five in each one of these categories.
