With the NFL Draft a little less than a month away, teams are beginning to have select draft prospects on their radar ahead of the big event and are conducting interviews with them in the hopes of finding common ground.
The Arizona Cardinals have held meetings with Rueben Bain Jr., Ty Simpson, and David Bailey, who are all projected to go in the first round.
The team also interviewed a National Championship-winning pass rusher at the combine, and it seems as if that “common ground” may be coming together.
Arizona interviewed one of the Ohio State Buckeyes' interior defensive linemen, Kayden McDonald, at the draft combine last February. The two parties have been keeping in touch as of late.
McDonald made his desire to win noticeable right away, and told executives that if they need a game wrecker, they just need to draft him.
"Every team that needs a physical defensive tackle has been in touch with me," McDonald said.

The Cardinals hold the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, and in all likelihood, it will be used on one of the top offensive lineman prospects such as Francis Mauigoa and Spencer Fano.
However, there is growing speculation that Arizona could entertain the idea of trading back into the first round and making another selection. Whether its Ty Simpson from Alabama, or McDonald, the rumors are there.
Adding a pass rusher as talented as McDonald, who dominates against the run, would be wise. But it has to come at the right price, it would not be wise to select him in the top-ten. It should be later on.
