Marvin Harrison Jr. caught seven passes on a career-high ten targets for 96 yards and a touchdown, serving as a security blanket for quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who made his third consecutive start for the team.

The Cardinals’ 27–17 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, where Harrison dazzled, silenced a lot of critics, including Harrison’s own father.

In an article released by ESPN’S Josh Weinfuss, Marvin Harrison Sr. criticized the team’s offensive performance. He said that it was “very hard for him to watch the offense,” and that he could be quoted on it.

Harrison Sr. played 13 seasons in the NFL, all with the Indianapolis Colts, earning eight Pro Bowl selections, a Super Bowl championship in 2007, and later being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

“The style of offense that I am accustomed to, that I’m used to watching as a professional eye, as a wide receiver…I just can't relate to watching that current offense.”

Since being selected No. 4 overall in the 2024 draft, many believe Harrison has failed to live up to the expectations that were stamped all over him coming out of college.

In his first 25 games of pro ball, Harrison has 1,311 receiving yards (55.1 per game), 11 touchdowns, and has averaged 8.3 yards per target. While the numbers aren’t terrible, I’m sure many Cardinals fans expected better results, especially since he was labeled as a generational talent.

In the three games with Jacoby Brissett, Harrison has 186 yards on 18 targets and is coming off his best outing of the season with him under center. Perhaps this is something to build on as the Cardinals prepare for the 6–2 Seattle Seahawks on the road at Lumen Field.

What will Brissett and Harrison have in store for an encore this upcoming Sunday?
