It Seems As If The Cardinals Have Not Ruled Out One Option At Quarterback

Despite finishing the season with a dismal three wins, the Arizona Cardinals saw their quarterback improve down the line, and it has definitely played a role in the team’s decision-making over the course of the offseason.

Arizona opted to cut longtime quarterback No. 1, and former first-round draft pick, Kyler Murray, in favor of a change at the position. Jacoby Brissett, who remained on the roster during the overhaul, started the majority of the team’s games in 2025 after Murray went down with a foot injury. His performance stood out, and he helped his group of pass catchers around him develop into better players overall.

The Cardinals also added journeyman quarterback Gardner Minshew, who spent 2025 with the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite all these moves at quarterback being made, some pages don’t rule out one move in particular that would give him a second chance somewhere else.

Burn City Sports believes the Cardinals could be in the business for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson.

“Why not take a low-risk flier on the former first-round pick with a big body (6-4, 244), huge arm, and untapped potential? The Cards have veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew as place-holders at quarterback until the 2027 draft, but Richardson would give new coach Mike LaFleur, a Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan disciple, a young player to try and develop.”

Richardson desperately needs a change of scenery after losing his starting spot in Indy to Daniel Jones, who recently signed a two-year, $88 million extension with the franchise.

With Brissett likely getting the nod to start the season, it would not be a bad idea at all to give the 23-year-old a second chance.
