One of the biggest questions this offseason for Monti Ossenfort and the Arizona Cardinals is who will be under center for them in 2026. It is highly unlikely that the team chooses to stick with Jacoby Brissett for a full season, even though he did an exceptional job in his time spent in the role of QB1.

Brissett took over for the entirety of the season in Week 6 after Kyler Murray, the team’s long-time starter, suffered a foot injury that required him to be placed on injured reserve.

Originally supposed to return after four weeks, the offense looked much more in sync under Brissett, which prompted the team to roll with him for the remainder of the season.

More reports came out later on that the team would look to move on from Murray over the offseason.

With it being likely that the Cardinals move off of him, it is noteworthy to mention that they do not have an option in-house if they choose to go through with this. However, one former starting quarterback, and the backup to the greatest quarterback of all time earlier in his career, could prove to be a true option for Ossenfort and company.

Could The Cardinals Sign Jimmy Garoppolo?

This wouldn’t hurt to try, especially since it would be inexpensive, as well as the fact that the quarterback class in both free agency and the draft is weak.

Garoppolo has been with the Rams for two seasons and hasn’t seen much playing time. Perhaps he could follow his old offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur, to Arizona, where he is now the head coach.

The chemistry between the two would already be there, and all that is needed is for it to translate to the field.

It would be cool if the Cardinals gave this a shot.
