NFL On Fox Has Cardinals Going...Not Offensive Line

If selected, the Cardinals will finally have their lead back.

With the Cardinals officially filling up all of their coordinator positions, it is time to focus on the next phase of the offseason. The team needs to add impact players on both sides of the ball, but specifically on offense.

Arizona has a dynamic group of pass catchers in Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Wilson. But the team lacked a consistent run game, which held back the offense from taking a big leap. This largely had to do with injuries to the running back position, as James Conner, Trey Benson, and Bam Knight all hit season-ending injured reserve.

The lack of having a lead back to rely on hurt the Cardinals' offensive production significantly, and it would be wise for them to address that need in the offseason.

Arizona could make the biggest splash imaginable by bringing in one guy in particular, and NFL on Fox actually predicts that to happen.

Cardinals Projected To Select Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love With Pick No. 3

Most mocks have had Monti Ossenfort building up the trenches, selecting either Spencer Fano or Francis Mauigoa. NFL on Fox is taking a different approach: it has Arizona taking one of the most impactful running backs of this generation, Jeremiyah Love.

In his junior year at Notre Dame, Love ran for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. Despite the Irish not making it into the College Football Playoff, Love proved to every scout out there why he deserves to be selected in the top ten, and arguably the top five.

Not that it means anything, but the Cardinals hired Matt Merritt as their running backs coach. Merritt comes from the University of Miami, a college coaching background.

It really is anyone's guess what the Cardinals choose to do with the third overall pick.
