Despite making the signing of Gardner Minshew and already having Jacoby Brissett under contract, it would not be out of the ordinary for the Cardinals to consider selecting another quarterback in the NFL Draft two weeks from now.
Sure, Brissett found a way to unlock the offense and take it to the next level, helping Michael Wilson take massive strides in his development as a receiver. But he is by no means the future of the franchise with his age and durability.
The Cardinals hold the No. 3 pick in the draft, but there aren’t any marquee quarterback prospects to select from in that range, and they likely address another need with that selection.
However, one trend that is becoming clearer as we approach the massive offseason event is that we will see a ton of pick trading in the first round.
Reported by Jordan Schultz, the Cardinals could certainly benefit from this in the late first round, perhaps making a move that would put them in position to select Ty Simpson.

“The expectation among many NFL teams is that the 2026 draft will be one of the more trade-heavy drafts in recent memory, according to multiple league sources. Specifically, on the defensive side of the ball — EDGE, CB, and LB are all strong/deep — while WR is typically considered to be the most talented offensive position.” — Jordan Schultz
This would be an incredibly risky move, as while Simpson showed potential at the University of Alabama, his success at the pro level is not a gimme by any means. However, that's what makes the draft so exciting nowadays: you never know what you’re going to get out of a prospect.
