The Arizona Cardinals quarterback situation will get increasingly interesting as we get closer to the NFL Draft this upcoming April. With Jacoby Brissett already under contract and returning for 2026, coupled with the fact that the team signed Gardner Minshew to a one-year deal, this only points to the fact that a quarterback competition will ensue in training camp.
Brissett started the majority of the season for the Cardinals in 2025 after Kyler Murray, who is now a Minnesota Viking, sustained a season-ending foot injury in Week 5. In the time he saw, Brissett compiled a record of 1–11 while throwing for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Under Brissett, the passing offense looked much more fluent and effective, as the team was able to move the ball down the field frequently. Despite that, the Cardinals still chose to add another arm to the QB room.
Even after adding Minshew, it seems as if the Cardinals' endeavors for a franchise quarterback are not done quite yet, as they scheduled one of the top prospects for a top-30 visit.

The rumors have been picking up over the last few weeks, and it seems they are at their peak. The Arizona Cardinals have former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson scheduled for a top-30 visit at their facility.
One of three teams to bring in Simpson, as the Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns also brought in the former Crimson Tide signal caller.
In his junior year at Alabama, Simpson threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns. Production that the Cardinals could desperately use.
