It’s Miller Time

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

When you say it’s Miller time in regards to the Arizona Cardinals, you usually think of one of the following scenarios: Kurt Warner has just thrown a 50 yard touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald Neil Rackers has just missed wide right that would have given the Cardinals a winning record to finish the season.  Now it’s time to go get drunk at the nearest pub.  Anquan Boldin has shut up and signed a long term contract worth millions. Nope, none of the above would be your official answer if you asked that question as to what it meant today.  Tight [...]

NFC West Training Camp Updates

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the first weekend of NFL Training Camp complete, I’d like to provide a quick update from not only Cardinals Camp, however other NFC West Camps as well.  Arizona Cardinals – Receiver Anquan Boldin suffered a slight hamstring pull, as did Cornerback Marcus Brown.  The Cardinals also got the chance to play indoors on the new turf inside Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, on Saturday, due to the threat of rain.  St. Louis Rams – Second-round draft pick Receiver Donnie Avery signed a contract and was expected to be in camp for practice this weekend.  San Francisco 49ers – First-round pick, Defensive [...]

Rodgers-Cromartie in the Fold

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bravo!  The Arizona Cardinals have made their first right move of the 2008 season.  First round draft pick, Cornerback Dominique Rdogers-Cromartie agreed to terms on Friday, on this the first day of training camp.  Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to be on the field for practice on Saturday. Sure it would have been nice to see him get on the field day one, however since he isn’t being counted on to start and he has missed only one day, it will be easy to catch him up.  He really hasn’t missed anything yet.  It was refreshing to see the Cardinals get this done [...]

Boldin Speaks Volumes

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ll try to keep it professional since these players do reserve some respect.  I mean, at least Anquan Boldin came out of hiding and said something so we can get on with life in training camp from day one.  However after today’s Drew Rosenhaus inspired press conference, I’d like nothing more than to see Anquan swallow his words, pretend he is still keeping to himself, play, and then move on to greener pastures as he thinks he will be doing after his contract expires in 2010.  Boldin said he was done with the Cardinals.  He will stick to his contract and [...]

Conditioning Day

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Tomorrow is the big day, the first day of training camp practice.  Yesterday, players and coaches reported to Flagstaff for a month-long camp.  Today is conditioning day for the Cardinals players.  Coach Ken Whisenhunt puts his players through a conditioning test on the day prior to camp opening.  This is a great idea, espeically given the altitude of camp, at 7,000 feet.  It is nice to see only four players who will not be there, three of whom are on the Physically Unable to Perform list and the other, first round pick Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.  Darnell Dockett sounds ready to go [...]

Campbell In The Mix; Boldin and Dockett Showing For Camp

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Second round draft pick Defensive End Calais Campbell agreed to a contract today for the Arizona Cardinals.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is believed to be a four-year deal that Campbell received.  Being no surprise, that leaves only first rounder, Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, as the only unsigned draft pick.  The Cardinals are apparently waiting for other draft picks around Rodgers-Cromartie to sign to get a sense of what he is worth.  So, you mean to tell me they don’t know yet?  Why do they always need to be the ones to wait?  Just get the job done [...]

Tickets Tickets Tickets!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Cardinals announced that single-game tickets are going to go on sale to the general public on Saturday July 26th, a week from tomorrow.  If you are a season ticket holder, you will have special privileges on Friday July 25th to purchase single-game tickets.  I was expecting the announcement to come soon since tickets normally go on sale in late July.  What I didn’t expect was the Cardinals to go all greedy on us.  Get this, if you would like to attend the Dallas Cowboys game on October 12th, then you must purchase a ticket for the pre-season game on [...]

Cardinals Roundup

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

With only ten days until the first training camp practices begin, the Arizona Cardinals negotiations with players have gone in both directions.  Third round draft pick, WR Early Doucett, from Louisiana State, signed his contract today and will report on time to training camp.  This is a good sign, considering the uncertainty of the status of WR Anquan Boldin.  Going in the other direction is LB Karlos Dansby.  By not agreeing to an extended contract by today, he is not able to work on an extension until after the season ends, given that he has been tagged as the franchise [...]

A Dream Sports Day

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

The big man in charge asked the group of bloggers in the Fan Sided network to post what their idea of a dream doubleheader would be.  A very interesting subject.  Being a fan of several teams, this really could have gone in many different directions.  Being a native of Phoenix, I grew up a Phoenix Suns fan.  Then the Cardinals came to town in 1988 when I was 15.  As far as my baseball interests went, I grew up a Chicago Cubs fan in and out.  No I wasn’t a Cubs fan because they were on cable.  If that was the case, I’d have grown up [...]
