With recent terrorist attacks in London there has been some concern about the Arizona Cardinals traveling to London this season

Life happens.  There is a lot in life we can’t control.  The Arizona Cardinals head to London in October, a place recently hit with terrorist attacks.

That being said there has been some concern raised about the safety of not only the Cardinals but the other teams that are headed overseas to play in 2017 and beyond. The Cardinals face the Los Angeles Rams on October 22nd.

The game, scheduled to be played at Twickenham Stadium, is part of the NFL series of games scheduled each season in London.  The Cardinals are one of three games to be played in England in 2017.

A few weeks ago there was the event in Manchester at an Ariana Grande concert.  Then the events in London proper last Saturday night which killed seven people.

Coach Bruce Arians indicated there is some concern but there are things that can’t be controlled. He’s right, the NFL and it’s six teams headed to London this season need to just be vigilant and go about their business.

The NFL takes a lot of measures to ensure the safety of the players and families that travel overseas.  That being said, some players have indicated the families will remain home.

Some of that is because the Cardinals are treating it like a business trip.  Given the short of amount of time the teams spend over in London, it makes sense.

It used to be a novelty, and it will be the Cardinals first trip to London, however now with up to three games a season being played in England, teams have been treating it just like any other week of the season.

Some teams don’t even spend the entire week in London anymore.  Some have decided to travel midweek.

If something happens, it happens unfortunately.  Just because things don’t happen often in the United States, there is a reason why fans have to go through metal detectors and face a pat down going into NFL Stadiums.  The threat will always exist no matter where you are and what city you are in.

Still, the fact of traveling with such a large party to a foreign land and high profile subjects, the challenges of remaining safe will exist.  Welcome to life in 2017.
