If you are a numbers guy, well, then Matt Leinart isn't your guy to quarterback the Arizona Cardinals after two games into the preseason.
A quick look at the numbers so far two games in:
Matt Leinart: 10-13 , 77 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Derek Anderson: 24-41, 193 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
John Skelton: 5-6, 84 yds, 1TD, 0 INT
Max Hall: 7-15, 101 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Not that impressive huh? Skelton and Hall you don't read too much into it. It is a nice competition to see who will be the number three guy. As for Leinart and Anderson, at least Anderson is moving the ball. Let's also remember that Anderson isn't facing all number one guys either. However Leinart is and will come September 12th going forward, so, to me, there is a little reason for concern, however we have to let him play longer than one quarter. His offensive line also needs to give him more time to throw out of the pocket.
This Saturday against the Chicago Bears, expect to see Leinart for at least a half, if not longer. Anderson will probably mop up whatever mess Leinart causes is my best guess. I imagine we will see a lot of Hall and Skelton in the fourth game against the Washington Redskins.
