Arizona Cardinals Down to Tennessee Titans 7-3 at End of First Quarter

Things haven’t started so well for John Skelton tonight as the Arizona Cardinals, as they trail the Tennessee Titans at the end of the first quarter 7-3.  His first series, he threw an interception and that was after getting sacked.  I blame poor offensive line play for that one though.  Skelton has completed a couple of nice passes to Jeff King and Andre Roberts after a rough first couple of series.  Larry Fitzgerald is still without a catch tonight.

Cards running back Beanie Wells has run for some tough yards.  He has looked ok.  Tight end Todd Heap dropped a nice pass from Skelton towards the end of the quarter.  They can’t drop the easy ones if they want to score this season.

The biggest loss of the first quarter though belonged to the Titans. They lost receiver and punt returner Marc Mariani to a gruesome leg fracture.  He was carted off after an air cast was placed on his leg.  It doesn’t look good, so God speed to him.

For now, Skelton has been ok.  He does look a little timid out there.  He needs to make better reads.  We’ll see what the second quarter holds and when Kevin Kolb makes his first appearance.
