The Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs all got their guy.  The Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Chicago Bears are all still looking for their next head coach.  With the elimination of the Denver Broncos from the NFL playoffs yesterday, a top target, Broncos Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy becomes available for hire.

The Cardinals are thought to be one of the suitors for McCoy after he interviewed with them last weekend in Denver.  A couple others though also are just as interested in his services.  It will all be a matter of which direction those teams and the Cards want to go.  My guess is if they haven’t hired anyone yet, they aren’t about to go out and hurry this thing a long even if it is McCoy they’ve decided on.

At this point I still think the Cards are trying to convince themselves Ray Horton should be hired and waiting to see if one of the other teams interested in McCoy snaps him up.  If they don’t, then I think they go after McCoy.  My feeling though is if they really wanted McCoy, he’ll be hired in next few days.  If it lasts any longer than that, my belief is the Cards either really want Horton or haven’t even interviewed their next head coach yet.
