Robert Ayers, DE

Ayers had his best season as a pro in 2015.  He accumulated 9.5 sacks for a New York Giants team that gave up a lot of points.

He has the qualities of a defensive end the Cardinals are looking for.  He’s tall at 6’3, although he is 30 years old.  The Cardinals, while looking to get younger in the secondary, may not be looking for the same on the defensive line.

Ayers also had a career-high 41 tackles in 2015.  He may have played himself into being a priority for the Giants to re-sign but it never hurts to pick up that phone and ask.  I’m not sure the Cardinals will land him but they should at least give it a try.
