Dwight Freeney

A free agent that waited all the way till mid-October to find his new team.  After two seasons with the San Diego Chargers, Freeney moved on.  Some thought he was done.  Remember, he spent 11 seasons prior to San Diego with the Indianapolis Colts.

There were rumors during the summer the Cardinals could be looking at adding him to the roster when no one else had.  The season started and as usual, openings started to occur at linebacker.  So in October, general manager Steve Keim did it again.  He found a fresh Dwight Freeney waiting for his next shot.

Freeney came in and contributed as a backup.  The most impressive thing about his statistics from 2015 was that he lead the Cardinals in sacks with eight. This from a guy who didn’t play the first five games for the Cardinals.  His biggest moment came when he provided his signature spin move to strip sack Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to seal the 23-20 victory.
