Arizona Cardinals: Top 10 plays of 2016
By Scott Allen
6. J.J. Nelson touchdown reception at Seattle Seahawks
The Cardinals didn’t have many completed deep passing plays this season. For some reason Palmer and his receivers just couldn’t hook up for the big one.
On Christmas Eve in Seattle, Palmer hit a big one to receiver J.J. Nelson. The touchdown reception by Nelson went for 80-yards. It was the longest pass play by a Seahawks opponent at CenturyLink Field since it opened.
The play set the tone for the afternoon and kept the Cardinals in the lead most of the day until the fourth quarter when the Seahawks tied it before the Cardinals won it at the end.
It was Nelson’s biggest catch of the season and one the Cardinals had been looking for all season. These types of plays had bee expected all season but it just never materialized. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come in 2017.
