David Johnson

Johnson makes the list at number 23.  There were a lot of good players in 2016.  In just his second NFL season, for Johnson to finish at 23 is appropriate.

Someday he will be higher than this, maybe even as soon as 2017.  He certainly had great statistics in 2016.

He was one of five nominated players for the Offensive Player of the Year.  He finished with 1,239-yards rushing.  He had 16 touchdowns rushing.

Not only could Johnson run, he can catch.  He wasn’t your typical screen-pass running back who occasionally caught a ball or five per game.  He actually lined up at receiver quite a bit last season.

Johnson ended up with 80 receptions which was good for second on the team.  He had 879-yards receiving to give him 2,118-yards from scrimmage.  He had four additional touchdowns receiving.

To show just how consistent he was, he had just four rushing games of 100-plus yards.  This meant he was always pushing the 100-yard mark on the ground but not always getting over it.

He did eclipse the 100-yard mark from scrimmage in all but one game last season.  The only exception was in week 17 when he got injured in the first-half against the Los Angeles Rams.
