Chandler Catanzaro

Many Cardinals fans don’t understand how he is even still on the roster.  Well, there are definitely reasons why he is.

Yes, Catanzaro missed crucial field goals against the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and Miami Dolphins.  He did make a big one to defeat the Seahawks on Christmas Eve.

One of the big issues I see with him in 2016 is that he didn’t have any camp competition.  He was handed the job and ran with it.  He wasn’t challenged.

He went 21-28 on field goal attempts and 43-47 on extra-point attempts in 2016.  He only missed three field goals in 2015 but missed five extra-points in 2015.

There is no questioning his leg.  He kicked a 60-yard field goal in Buffalo.  He missed a 24-yard field goal against Seattle in overtime.  You figure it out.

The Cardinals publicly have continued to back him.  At some point though losses need to be cut if said player isn’t cutting it.  Give him competition in training camp.
