Calais Campbell

Let’s face it.  We know he’s leaving.  Even Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians hinted this past week that he was resigned to the fact Campbell was leaving.

While the Cardinals have made an offer out to him, it isn’t going to be close to what other teams can and are willing to pay him.  Someone will overpay for his services.

Reports are the Cardinals offered a four-year deal worth over $30 million.  It won’t be enough. The Cardinals seemed resigned to that fact.

Arians acted as if the Cardinals had been preparing for this for over a year.  They likely have.  There is a reason why the Cardinals kept nine defensive tackles on the roster last season.

There were always one or two defensive tackles on the inactive list come gameday.  This was weather they were injured or not.  There were some healthy scratches last season.

This will free the Cardinals up to possibly keep a guy like Frostee Rucker or Ed Stinson.  Campbell will always be well-liked.  Now another fan base will find out why.
