D.J. Swearinger

He’s a hard-hitter.  He started 12 of the 16 games he played in for the Cardinals in 2016.  He also had three interceptions to go with his 66 tackles.

He’s another player the Cardinals are going to have to be willing to part with given the other safeties the Cardinals do currently have.  Someone will overpay for him as well.

There hasn’t been much talk about the Cardinals in being interested in keeping Swearinger.  There are a lot of fans that like him.  He will be expendable though.

About to enter his fifth-NFL season in 2017, Swearinger would be playing for his fourth NFL team if he does leave the desert.  He also had two sacks in 2016, so he is a guy that plays all over the place.

Swearinger’s 2016 numbers will attract attention.  I would not be surprised to see him be one of the first departures once free agency begins.
